Flu

I had the flu last week, as sick as I’ve ever been. With the baby and an already over-tired mom at home, I was effectively quarantined in the bedroom, and they decamped in the “living area” (as the other half of a one bedroom apartment may be referred to). My wife remarked that I’ve fallen ill three times in as many years, and that we may thus conclude that I am sickly. So be it.

Fresh from this experience, I have begun to take my health a bit more seriously. I haven’t had a daily cup of coffee since it all started and now I don’t really see any reason to start up again. Herbal teas have done the trick. I seem to be eating less as well. And vitamins.

On another note entirely, I’m heading to SXSW this year. Should be fun.

Sam & Max Hit the Road was simply the best adventure game I ever played. It was funny – both witty and ha-ha funny – and presented a great mix of challenging puzzles and entertaining mini-games. If you’ve never played it, well, ScummVM is your friend.

Hit the Road appeared at the height of LucasArts’s heyday (TIE Fighter anyone?), and now some former employees are carrying the torch forward at Telltale Games where Sam & Max are appearing in a series of episodic adventures. Recently, however, they’ve announced the re-release of the original comic, which in turn triggered this post. So go forth, consume this madness and thank me later.
